I went back to my 50th reunion, after only being back to the 40th and did not regret it. People change over the years and I found myself re-connecting with a number of people in ways that I had not expected.. And my wife found it quite entertaining to hear tales of my high school days...

“Overworked and underpaid guardian angel.” I love it.

I hear you on the “these are your best days” speech. I heard men and women in the Navy say that their time in the Navy was their best and I’d always say to myself, “I hope not! I want to do so much AFTER the military. Ever onward and upward, even with occasional setbacks.”

As one of your “old” classmates, and one that has friended you through Facebook more than when I was self absorbed in high school, I can say that your life after high school was worth the angst experienced way back then. I remember going back at the ten year reunion, and coming away thinking, why was I scared of going back. I’m glad I’ve been back to the 30,40 and 45 mostly because I’ve gotten to know some of the other 700+ classmates a little more, and gotten to close some memories with smiles rather than questions. I’m glad to see those who went beyond what they imagined in high school, and a bit sad for those still living in the past, but if they are happy more power to them. I’m happy to have shared the last ten or so years of your journey through Facebook. My prayers remain for you and Jill. She is good for your soul, it shows in pictures and words. I’m sad for those who can’t be with us at the 50th, but hoping most make it in 5 years. Wishing you both the best!
